Catherine Thomas

BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation

Since graduating, Catherine has had a number of experiences in Emergency Management, working in London for Government, Local Government, Non-Government Organisations and the private sector.  These have enabled her to gain experience in a number of incidents at international, national and local level.

She has supported high profile emergencies such as the Ebola Virus and Zika Virus Crisis, an aviation incident and the Grenfell disaster, as well as a number of other emergency situations.

Over the last few years Catherine has delivered lectures at universities about the different incidents she has provided support to help students who are studying Disaster Management put into context the types of incidents they may respond to and considerations which must be taken into account as well as lessons learnt.

She says: “I was First Aid volunteer and Trainer for the British Red Cross for a few years which helped my work in stressful situations and working with Emergency Services and the general public and I was the Team Leader for one of my local centres which I thoroughly enjoyed.”

Catherine is a Christ Church alumni volunteer, talking to students at employability events.
