Frances initially graduated with a BA (Hons) Religious Studies from Christ Church in 1983. She took her PGCE at the University after a bringing up her family and working for a housing association.  The effect was life changing for her, opening up a new and extremely fulfilling career in education.

She ultimately progressed to headteacher of Phoenix Community Primary School and Herne Bay Junior School in Kent, before moving on in 2017 to join OfSTED as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors.  Always a strong champion for working in partnership with Christ Church, Frances was an obvious choice when a Faculty of Education alumni representative was required for the Alumni Relations Development Group, entitling her to the University designation of Alumni Champion.
