Roger retired after working in education for 42 years: 35 years teaching in Kent schools, then four as Kent’s Gifted & Talented advisor and the final three as an independent Gifted & Talented consultant.  

He now spends quite a lot of time volunteering as a school governor, serving on six school governing bodies, including Simon Langton Boys School in Canterbury which he actually attended as a pupil from 1963-70.
