Hi3 Network is a Research, Development, and Innovation project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Valued in excess of £6m it is the largest ERDF grant awarded in the South East LEP region, and our alumni community are encouraged to tap into this resource.

Hi3 Network is a research, development and innovation project, offering free business support to companies working with (or looking to work with) creative technology. It aims to connect Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with researchers and experts from a cross-section of creative industry organisations.

The project is free and can support any SMEs within England, no matter what industry, no matter how mature the business. The project offers an exciting opportunity for businesses to adopt new immersive technologies, collaborate with other companies in the region, and network with industry leaders from BAFTA and BFI. The network is partnered with Creative Folkestone, Screen South alongside Maidstone Studios, London Southbank University, and Canterbury Christ Church University.

Businesses registered with Hi3 can access collaborative workspaces and technology and expertise across all the Hub spaces and participants can access support through training and events (e.g. Social Media Strategy, Screen Presentation and gaining confidence of camera, intellectual property etc.), where they can learn key skills to apply directly to their business.

The project also supports Business Innovation by guiding companies in establishing their innovation ideas and developing at most a ‘proof of concept’, so they can take this further themselves in developing prototypes. They also recommend funding organisations, through our partners and external stakeholders we work with.

Canterbury Christ Church University has particular research specialisms in Animation, Digital Design, Gaming, Film, Music Production, Photography, and Television. It is experienced working with organisations to collaborate, innovate and carry out research that addresses specific problems.
