During the lockdown, Principal Lecturer in Modern Literature, Dr Andrew Palmer, has started posting short films about literature on Instagram.

He says: “This began with the aim of keeping my current students engaged, but it occurred to me that former students might also be interested. So far, I’ve covered First World War poetry, Virginia Woolf’s essay On Being Ill, and poems by Thomas Hardy and Sylvia Plath. I’ve recently been asked to write an introduction to Animal Farm, so I also have material on George Orwell in the pipeline.”
