Futures Scholarships

Whose Future will you change?

A scholarship can change the course of a student’s life forever. They may come from lower-income or disadvantaged families, be the first in their family to go to university or have no family support at all.

These students have the most to gain from university life. They also have the most to worry about financially if they get here. With your help, we can change that.

Futures Scholarshipsand Opportunity Grants

Our new Futures Scholarships will provide a £5,000 bursary each year to a student during their undergraduate study; a significant contribution towards their cost of living which will enable them to participate fully in university life.

Futures Scholars will also receive exclusive access to a Futures Coach, and bespoke workshops to build confidence and employability skills, ensuring they have the support they need to achieve their very best, and define their own futures.

By supporting hard work and academic promise, Futures Scholarships and Opportunity Grants aim to create opportunities for students, raise aspirations, and transform lives.

What your gift could fund

The increasing cost of a university education can be a real barrier for those from lower-income or disadvantaged backgrounds. By supporting a Futures Scholarship, you can help to change that.

  • £10 a month could help a student in hardship to buy essential food/provisions
  • £50 a month could support the travel costs for a student travelling to their work placement
  • £250 could fund the cost of essential textbooks and equipment
  • £4,800 could fund a student’s rent for a whole year whilst studying at Canterbury Christ Church University
  • £15,000 will fund a full Futures Scholarship for an undergraduate student over three years

What you will receive

As a Futures Scholarship supporter you will be invited to an annual Futures event where you will have the opportunity to meet your scholar during their time studying at Canterbury Christ Church University, as well as other Futures donors.
