Statement on Blackbaud data breach

You may have heard reports in the national media that Blackbaud, an international supplier of customer relationship management systems to universities and the third sector, has experienced a major data breach.
Canterbury Christ Church University has not been affected by this data breach. Blackbaud has clarified that the data breach only affected a subset of data from their self-hosted environment. Blackbaud does not provide such services to the University.
The University has used Blackbaud services in the past but the security of these services was directly managed by the University and data was not stored in their self- hosted environment.
Raiser’s Edge (the Blackbaud solution that was used the University) is currently being decommissioned.
The security of alumni data is a University priority. We will continue to monitor the situation and to dedicate ourselves to maintaining the security and integrity of the data we hold.
Further information regarding the Data Controller for your personal data and who you should contact if you have a query regarding your personal data is available here.
