Gail Adcock

BA (Ed) English

Gail worked as a Primary Teacher for 10 years before feeling called to work in church ministry.  “Teaching is a great foundation for the ministry” she says.

As a result of her teaching experience, she puts great value on both reflective practice and multi-agency working and, whilst in ministry in Luton was able to work with Luton Borough Council to establish a children’s centre connected with the church. Now the Family Ministries Officer working across the Methodist Church, Gail has recently written The Essential Guide to Family Ministry, a book exploring the issues around contemporary family structures and perceptions of what family means.

Gail lives in Hitchin, Hertfordshire with husband Matt; they celebrated their silver wedding anniversary this year.  Their two sons are now young adults. She enjoys visits with them to Tottenham Hotspur matches at their new stadium and is a budding crocheter in her spare time.
