After graduating and brief stints working in home shopping and as a freelance camera operator, Tim joined the BBC in Birmingham in 2003, working in regional news.

Tim says: “From lowly beginnings I now find myself managing part of the technical team that produces BBC Breakfast in Salford and being the most multi-skilled technician in the BBC. From filming the royal family, to creating 3d graphics, to directing news bulletins and everything in between I have a rich and varied daily work life!

“The pandemic has been a real challenge and made us totally rethink how we work, but it does mean that we face the future feeling more resilient”.
